15 to try: pistachio & matcha green home décor ideas

Green is the colour that continues to dominate interior design but with such a wide spectrum of shades available, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the choice.

Thankfully, inspiration is at hand and it comes from the world of food. Design experts and interior magazines are championing matcha and pistachio as the shades to choose. It’s no coincidence that Dubai-style chocolate, with its vibrant green filling, pistachio crème and matcha lattes have taken shoppers - and social media - by a storm.

Now it’s time to take the fresh vibrancy of green and apply it to your home. Here are 15 pistachio & matcha green home décor ideas to try.

    5 green paints to sample

    1. Teresa's Green by Farrow & Ball is a calming, therapeutic mid aqua with soft green undertones. It sits comfortably alongside cool neutrals and exposed brick.

    2. Benjamin Moore has a wide selection of green paints but Pistachio is a classic for this season. Team it with black and white for an Art Deco feel.

    3. Matcha is part of French Chic’s al fresco paints, so it can be used to paint furniture and items in the garden and the home. Use it when you want a rich softness.

    4. Taking its inspiration from the luminous glaze of Chinese Mise, Celadon is a clear, bright green from Fired Earth. It’s an ideal shade to use in bathrooms.

    1. Wellbeing is a sweet green paint shade from Dulux with an uplifting quality. Use it with deep olive green and silvery greys.

    5 green wallpapers to apply

    1. The Lighthouse Palm wallpaper from Paint & Paper Library is a deep matcha green with a subtle palm print. It’s bold enough to be used alongside black kitchen cabinets.

    1. Palais Sage from Graham & Brown is at the more sophisticated end of wallpapers. The background is a subtle shade of green with a geometric pattern in metallic platinum.

    1. Country cottage chic can be achieved with Leafberry Green from Colefax and Fowler. Instead of chintzy flowers, it features trails of delicate leaves and berries on a green background.

    2. Galerie in Turquoise Green is a linen textured wallpaper from John Lewis. It’s pale enough to qualify as a pastel, complementing limed oak flooring and Scandi-inspired furniture.

    3. Cover more wall for less effort by using Caspian Strie in Grass by Sanderson as it’s a wide-width roll. Gravure printing gives this paper a beautiful tonal finish.

    5 accessories to add

    1. Although the scent of Marks & Spencer’s Lychee & Dragonfruit Confetti candle is good, the glass holder is even better, with its minty green decoration.

    2. Add some lushness to your bathing routine with Christy’s organic Turkish cotton towels in the Thyme colourway. Available in four sizes, from face flannel to bath sheet.

    3. Ikea’s Piltandvinge duvet cover and pillow case set in Light Green is so zesty it’s bordering on chartreuse yellow. Great for brightening up low light bedrooms.

    1. Ease yourself into green with the Soft Pistachio Green roman blind from Blinds Direct. Available in different widths and drops, with matching curtains, lampshades and cushions.

    2. Add a sweet splash of green to a sofa or armchair with this Pistachio Green cushion cover, sold by Wolf & Badger. It pairs well with botanical print fabrics and cream colour schemes.

If you’re sprucing up your home ahead of a sale, consider the lightest greens to add a clean, fresh atmosphere. If you’re ready to sell, contact us for a valuation appointment.
